The Workplace First Aid Standard — Done Properly

HLTAID011 is the nationally recognised workplace first aid qualification required by Safe Work Australia and most WA employers. It covers everything from CPR and AED use to managing bleeding, burns, fractures, anaphylaxis, and shock — the real emergencies that happen in real workplaces.

WCFAT delivers with Laerdal QCPR manikins providing real-time feedback, EpiPen trainer devices, and scenario-based training that reflects your specific workplace. Our trainers are active lifeguards, paramedics, and nurses — not just qualified instructors.

If you work in childcare, education, or care settings, you need HLTAID012 — not HLTAID011. HLTAID012 includes all HLTAID011 content plus child-specific requirements and satisfies ACECQA obligations. HLTAID011 alone does not meet childcare regulatory requirements.

HLTAID011 FAQ

How long is HLTAID011 valid?

3 years for the full certificate. However the CPR component (HLTAID009) should be renewed annually — most WA employers treat annual CPR renewal as mandatory. Build a reminder 3 months before your expiry date.

Can WCFAT come to our workplace?

Yes — all WCFAT training is delivered on-site at your workplace across Perth metro and Broome. We bring all equipment including Laerdal QCPR manikins, AED trainers, EpiPen trainers, and scenario materials. Minimum 10 participants.

Is HLTAID011 GST-free?

Yes — HLTAID011 is a nationally accredited VET qualification and is GST-free under Australian tax law. A tax invoice will be provided. WA construction workers may also be eligible for a CTF (Construction Training Fund) rebate.

What's the difference between HLTAID011 and HLTAID012?

HLTAID012 includes all of HLTAID011's content plus additional child-specific requirements for education and care settings. If you need HLTAID012, completing HLTAID011 separately does not satisfy the requirement — you must complete HLTAID012.
