What WA Schools & Government Organisations Need

WA schools and government organisations have first aid obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA), the WorkSafe WA First Aid Code of Practice, and in the case of schools with Early Childhood programs, the Education and Care Services National Law.

For WA public schools, the Department of Education requires that all schools have access to trained first aiders and that school staff in student supervision roles maintain current first aid qualifications. For schools with Kindy or Pre-Primary programs, HLTAID012 is required for at least one educator present at all times.

For local government and shire councils — including those managing aquatic centres, parks, events, and remote operations — first aid requirements vary by function. WCFAT can help you identify the right training for each role in your organisation.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is recommended for all school teaching and support staff involved in student supervision. Many WA schools now require it as a condition of employment.

HLTAID012 is mandatory for at least one educator present at all times in WA Kindy and Pre-Primary programs. It includes HLTAID011 content plus child-specific anaphylaxis and asthma management.

Yes — we can provide a tax invoice for all group training bookings, suitable for purchase order and procurement processes. All WCFAT training is GST-free as nationally accredited vocational education.
Can WCFAT deliver training during school holidays or on pupil-free days?
Yes — we schedule training around your school calendar. Pupil-free days, school holidays, and before/after term are all available. We can also deliver training outside school hours for small groups when required.
Does WCFAT train in Broome and the Kimberley for government organisations?

What is the minimum number of participants for on-site training?
