Why It Matters

Healthcare Workers Need More Than Standard First Aid

Standard HLTAID011 is designed for general workplaces. Healthcare, aged care, and disability support environments present different challenges — higher-risk clients, oxygen equipment, complex medications, and situations where rapid advanced response is essential.

WCFAT's trainers include former paramedics and nurses who have worked in exactly these environments. They don't just teach from a manual — they train your staff with real clinical context and scenario-based practice that reflects your workplace's actual risks.

We deliver on-site at your facility across Perth and Broome, using Laerdal QCPR manikins with real-time feedback displayed on projectors and iPads. Minimum 10 participants per session.

HLTAID015 — Annual renewal required

If your organisation has oxygen equipment or your staff are required to administer oxygen, HLTAID015 Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy is mandatory — and must be renewed annually. This is the most commonly overlooked compliance gap in WA aged care and healthcare settings.

ARC guidelines compliant

All WCFAT training is fully aligned with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines — the clinical standard required by healthcare regulators, aged care accreditation bodies, and NDIS providers in WA.

Common Questions

Healthcare First Aid FAQ

Does WCFAT training satisfy aged care accreditation requirements?
Yes. All WCFAT training is nationally recognised and ARC compliant, meeting the requirements of aged care accreditation standards, NDIS provider obligations, and WA healthcare regulatory requirements.
How often does HLTAID015 need to be renewed?
Annually. HLTAID015 is one of only two first aid units with a mandatory annual renewal requirement (along with HLTAID009 CPR). This reflects the critical nature of oxygen therapy and advanced resuscitation skills and the importance of maintaining currency. Don't let your staff's HLTAID015 lapse — it can affect your organisation's compliance status.
Can WCFAT deliver training at our aged care facility or GP practice?
Yes — we deliver all training on-site at your facility. Minimum 10 participants per session. We bring all equipment including Laerdal QCPR manikins, oxygen training equipment, and scenario materials. No disruption to your clients — training happens in your environment on your schedule.
Is WCFAT available in Broome for regional healthcare providers?
Yes — WCFAT is based in Broome and delivers training throughout the Kimberley for healthcare providers, community services, and disability support organisations. We are one of the only nationally accredited first aid providers based in the Kimberley.
